Jörg Mennickheim (*1973 in Kassel) studied at Köln International School of Design (KISD) and ENSCI Les Ateliers in Paris after having completed his apprenticeship as carpenter. In 2002 he worked for Paris based Designers Ronan+Erwan Bouroullec.
During his time at KISD he ganged up with four other designers and formed the design network SOUPCULTURE. The group caused attention by a series of installations where they presented furniture designs in correspondence to locations that were endangered by demolition like „Gambagarage“ in 2003 or „Elevated“ in 2005.
In 2005 he founded together with Moritz Halfmann the design studio HALFMANN MENNICKHEIM with a special focus on interior design, retail design and product design.
